South Auckland Motors - Driving Community Support
A true champion of the community, South Auckland Motors plays a vital role in the success of the Great Kiwi Road Trip. Their generous support includes the provision of multiple vehicles throughout the year, as well as hands-on involvement during our major March and October events. This incredible commitment is made possible thanks to the ongoing backing of Managing Director Michael Tappenden and Sales Manager Melissa Rushton – two passionate supporters who help keep our wheels turning.
New Zealand Airforce - Engineering the Impossible
We’re incredibly fortunate to have the ongoing support of the New Zealand Air Force, whose mechanical expertise plays a critical role in keeping our Roadie on track. Each year, their dedicated crews roll up with tools in hand and dive headfirst into whatever challenges our charity convoy throws at them.
With the quirky nature (and age!) of some of our vehicles, repairs often require creative thinking, late nights, and more than a bit of improvisation. It’s a partnership that not only keeps us moving but also offers unique, real-world training opportunities for the RNZAF teams – conducting repairs in some truly weird and wonderful places!
AA Road Service - Keeping the Roadie Rolling
One of New Zealand’s most trusted organisations, the AA has been a cornerstone supporter of our charity rallies since 2005. Their mechanical expertise and unwavering commitment ensure our convoy stays on the road – often against the odds! Teaming up with the Air Force, these legends can be found working into the early hours, carrying out running repairs so our vehicles are ready to roll out for school visits the next day. Quite simply, we couldn’t do it without them.
Cosmo's Kitchen - Fuel for the Road
Cosmo’s Kitchen is an essential part of our Roadie crew, keeping everyone well-fed and energised no matter how remote the location. From hearty breakfasts to roadside BBQ lunches, they help fuel both our teams and the communities we visit – often dishing up meals for hundreds during school visits. Their legendary food trailer and crew have become a firm favourite, earning a well-deserved reputation for top-tier tucker, especially at our supporting event, the Cocksy Classic. Whether it’s behind the grill or out on the road, Cosmo’s Kitchen brings the flavour and the fun.
EcoZip Adventures - Soaring Support for Kiwi Kids
EcoZip Adventures, a multi award-winning adventure tourism business, has been a valued partner of Kiwi Kids Charity since 2016. Their support began with the generous donation of their entire operation for a full day, giving over 120 children and their caregivers an unforgettable experience packed with colour, emotion and fun.
Since then, their involvement has only grown – showing up in many forms, always with heart. Their commitment runs so deep that their Managing Director has gone on to become Chair of the Kiwi Kids Charity Board. EcoZip doesn’t just support what we do – they’re part of who we are.
